| "Numero
Uno": Supervise your dog's activities at all times.
This means being aware of what your dog is doing at all
times. The off-leash areas are not an environment where
you can relax and read a book, or become involved in deep
conversations that distract you from your dog's whereabouts
and activities.
The Scoop on Poop: All owners must pick up after their dogs. Don't be offended if someone calls attention to the fact that your dog is "over there doing his business"! We all know how easy it is to get distracted and not notice when your dog has moved to a far away place to poop. A clean park is in everyone's best interest, so everyone is asked to help out each other in that regard. Please keep mounting to a minimum. If your dog mounts another dog (except for a dog from your household or another dog who is your dog's best friend), please physically restrain him immediately, and try to use distraction to get him focused on another, more acceptable activity. Try to keep barking to a minimum - especially cases of repetitive barking directed at another dog, or at two dogs engaged in wrestling/playing. Rough play is O.K. as long as it's consensual - i.e., it's okay with both owners, and both dogs are participating equally, and thus "seems" to be okay with both dogs. Gate: Please discourage your dog from running to the gate to meet an incoming dog, especially if a crowd is forming just inside the gate. If your dog has ever shown aggression of any kind around the gate area (including through-the-fence barking), do not allow him to go to the gate under any circumstances. Children in the off-leash areas but must be closely supervised by their guardian. Children are not allowed to run in the off-leash areas. Please do not throw rocks in the pond or climb on the rocks that form the waterfall. Smoking: Smoking is restricted to the smoking areas. Toys: There are tennis balls and remnants of toys in the park. You may bring toys to the park; however, please expect to share them with the other dogs, and do not expect to take them home in the same condition. If your dog is the least bit possessive of his toys, it is recommended that you NOT bring his toys. Treats: You may bring treats into the park, but caution & awareness is necessary. The operative word here is "discreet". Please be very discreet! First, bring them in an air-tight container. Second, restrict treats to the tiny-bite-size type . Finally, only give your dog his treat when there are no other dogs nearby. Be discreet! |
